I have managed to find out how to provide a list of options for a category, but I do not know how to give only one option.

My intention would be to have one item as the category, and hide the field so the user does not even see the category.

I have tried setting the category using "catid=50" and putting the default figure at 50 but that shows no category at all.  I've tried using number 2 in the back end to no avail, again blank categories.  what is the correct way to achieve this?

Sorry for the simple question.

I managed to achieve this by using the live variation for the content type.  I don't know why this didn't work the first time around.  I think it was because I used batch copy so the content type was not valid.
