I use search and list types for data i enter in different categories. To filter results by category i added a jForm-category field to my search form. Now i filter by entering a categoy number using Advanced Options -> Live + Variation. That works fine so far. But because my website is very modular (i use a lot of modules published in different positions) i need to link the list/search results with a itemid connected to menu items.

is it possible to use a hidden field in search form for itemid i manually enter when making new menu item or new module an load it in templates for building my custom URL? Or is there another way?

Hello @yuberlin,

Yes it's possible.

In your search, put all fields you need. Don't hide them if ou want to use this search in a page, and don't give them a live value.

Then when you create a new menu item for this search, in Advanced options of the menu, you can set and hide some field of your search form.

Same if you create Seblod List Module, you can set and hide some of fields.

Regards.

At the moment im trying to build a News Slider. The Slider is a SEBLOD - List Module. It grabs articles from a category i specify in module settings. That works perfect. But for linking the news introtext to full article, i need the item id. Problem: The Itemid is not entered when submitting articles (in content type) because this content type is the same for all categories.

So i want to enter the item id when setting up the module for different parts of the website (every category has it own news slider). The problem is when adding the field "item id" to search in search type, i always get "There is no result.".

So how can i setup this field, for using the value as live value (for building the links to content view in this module) and not filtering items with this value?
