Hi cubist,

Yes.  Users can edit SEBLOD Content from the front side, just like any article!

thanks,

Randy

Thx, I am able to view a list the users just fine, but the field is not linking to the user's profile where I could begin editing. I was able to do this just fine with content.

In the Search Type: List layer I set the field Username in the #2 area as View then chose Content = Field, and Field Name = id.

I've tried other variants but the only attempt that actually generates a link is the setting the #2 area as Form, which just takes me to a new blank form ... Hmmm.... what am I missing here?

It seems Seblod could use another choice in the #2 area when selecting Content, there is Delete and View ... it seems that Edit would be another good choice here, no?

Ok, thanks for reposting those links. I think another solution exists... creating your own template and pass user fields to it. In such a template, mimic the edit link then include the user id. I think this can only be done with Item template though and not a List template.

I then use JUMI component to redirect users depending on their access level should they happen to get to the page above by chance... but this may not be so secure.

Yes I have followed those threads very closely and have a working editable profile in the front-end.

My problem. I would like staff who are publishers to edit other users' profiles as well, but none of the permissions I am using seem to work.

Only the super user is able to edit anything in the front end. Even tho the User Configuration for editing is allowed for lower user groups.

Can someone spell out the proper permissions that allows edit of other profiles?? Thx!

Hi,

to link listed usernames to user profiles you need to activate user bridge in (hard to find location) CCK Storage Location - Joomla User plugin.

To enable editing of those profile you need to go to the configuration->Site tab and disable Joomla edit button. Then you need to add FreeText Edit field to your search type, click on 2 (typography) and change Link to Form.

Klas, Thank you.

Trying to complete the steps in your last.

RE: configuration->Site tab and disable Joomla edit button -- where is this? I am using Joomla 3.3.0 and I don't see the button you're referring to

Here's my admin link path: /administrator/index.php?option=com_config

Actually I did not find the free text to be necessary. I just linked to the form from one of the search fields. Thx again.
