Ordering of article look fine but it is not displaying well, I have multiple same number if I change the value manualy in the front end form.

Am I the only one to have this or is there a simple solution ?

Hi Guillex,

Have you added the Article Ordering field to the List / Item section?

The Search Form section is a form designed to allow the user to search on the content type.

Hope that helps,

Randy

Hi Guillex,

In your Article manager, do you have 2 articles with the same order value (4)?

thanks,

In the article manager we dont see the numbers of article anymore since joomla 3 I think, but in the data base yes I see that some article have the same numbers as order.

What I want to do is to display the order of article in my list like 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5,  etc and not having 0, 1, 1, 1, 2, 5, 5 ,6

I want my user to be able to change the order to, if they can just cahnging the numbers like in joomla 1.5 or 2.5 it is ok for me but the article order should be rearange automaticaly and not showing same order number in the liste

Am I using the order correctly or should I use it in other way to be like in joomla article back end list ?

Hi Guillex,

This is the way that the order field works.  Even in earlier versions of Joomla, you can have multiples of the same number.  Unfortunately it would not renumber all of the articles.  But you can change it manually as you are currently doing by adding the ordering field to the Content Type.

In the Article Manager, the articles can be sorted by the ordering (in the upper right corner of the article manager) and you can drag and drop to reorder.   In the search type, you might also want to add the title as an additional field to sort by - just an option.

regards,

Randy

You have multiple articles with the same order number, there is nothing article order field can do about it.

First you need to make sure that you don't have multiple aritcles with the same order number. What you can do is to filter out unwanted versions, e.g.  fitler by status
