Hello

After several months of hard work, Pulsar Informatique is proud to announce the launch of the new Mazarine Library web site. This is another example of a complex responsive and multi language site with Seblod 3.

With the exception of Acymailing for the newsletters, every view has been developped with Seblod. The calendar (with recurring events!), the google maps, the tabs, automatic menus, contextual contents, the sliders etc.. everything is a seblod list.

We found seblod to be the only way to realize such a website with Joomla. For the customer it gives him the possibility to simply enter
his content within a validation workflow and without worrying about the final automatic layout.

As for the translation method we largely used labels translations with the native Joomla substitutions feature.

We also fixed the Joomla 2.5 batch processing so that we can easily create "translated" versions of our original contents.

To avoid the category duplication which is theorically required by Joomla multisites, we fixed a Joomla bug so that we can now put the original and translated contents in the same category. It should be merged in Joomla 2.5.17 and Joomla 3.2.1

Then adding the Article Language field in all our seblod lists search tabs we could easily use the same lists for each language.

Maybe i am wrong but i saw a picture of the library among some chosen library pictures on cnn or bbc quite recently (i hope i am right). The featured libraries were to be distinguished with architecture. Nice job.

Hello

We just released another multi language and responsive site with Seblod. This time this is in the aerospace domain with Aerolithe. All the views, sliders, functions have been made with Seblod except for the e-commerce part.

This is also an e-commerce site with Hikashop though we are now working on a more closely seblod related e-commerce solution. Anyway with Aerolithe and Mazarine I believe we show Seblod is a good solution for great multi languages sites.

As for our next e-commerce seblod integration I may be able to show you something in the upcoming months (I hope)

Hi

Nice one, but filtering on Used airplanes is not working not in EN nor in FR, I had this problem with filtering and languages, but solved now.

Salut Cyril,
you mentioned "automatic menus". Are you referring to an auto-creation of menu-items for single article pages? If yes, i would be interested to hear some details? How did you accomplish it and would you mind to give some insights? BTW, i could not find really large menus, which might be the main purpose for auto-creation. Or did I miss something?

Thanks in advance.

Hi
Automaric menus can be viewed as lists of content titles with link plugins.
For instance it's very easy to create a list of contents from the same category (or any other mathing criteria) as the current article so that you get a list module somewhere in the page that is a menu to reach the other contents.
Such automatic modules can be used anywhere in the site.
the webmaster only has to create new contents that will be showned in the automatic menu

I see. Didn't think of list in module. Maybe even the better solution if you have certain other modules to show in the same category context. Regular, single J! MenuItems would get new ItemID#'s.

Thanks for the heads-up.

Ah the menu itemids !! This is why we developped a special "cck link plugin" that will find the right itemid given a content.

Cyril, you seem to know your way around Seblod/Joomla ;-)
Was it necessary to build that special link plugin? I thought (and hoped) it would work with a simple Seblod module and the usual list view. At least with a "hidden-menu-trick" for the respective category.

If the menu is not a "main menu" and displayed in category context only:
I could imagine a "load-module" in a custom list template for that category.
Or maybe use of AdvancedModuleManager / MetaMod. Which are able to show modules outside of the usual J! MenuItemID.

YEs, the link plugin is only useful when you search among several content types that can be displayed in several menu items in the site. Since the standard SEE plugin can only be set with a given menu item you need a special plugin that will redirect to the right itemID according to the content itself.

For the automatic menu there is no need for a special plugin since every content in the "menu" is from the same CCK

But we are designing a new plugin based on the assumption that a given content only exists in a single location in the site (much better for Google). Given this principle, a single itemID has to be attached to each content even if it is NOT a direct link to the content (for example a seblod list).
