Ahoy and hello all!
It's me again and me again with a similar problem I had already in former times:
I installed SEBLOD 3.3.6 on a brand new Joomla! 3.3.1 to use it for only one thing: the multisite feature!
Oh and it works so fantastic! I set up 12 or 13 sites with different domain names, all of the sites as an advanced site so SEBLOD provided me with 3 additional users, usergroups and access levels and each and avery part of it is just working as a swiss clockwork. I felt like in heaven and Joomla! with SEBLOD a sweat dream in it!
Then I installed Jomsocial to be used on one of the defined sites
(... and was welcomed back on earth, finding myself on a place that seemed to be organized by italians).
The plain problem is: I can not use jomsocial's link to register as a new user.
This is, because SEBLOD creates a user "[site name]" for each site you define, that is used when a unregistered visitor visits this one site.
It's true: you aren't even registered on any of the multisites of this Joomla/SEBLOD instance/installation, but when visiting one of the defined multisites, SEBLOD uses the one user secretly without you haven't even loged on. This is brilliant for this solves a lot of problems for realizings this entire multisite feature at all.
.... but .... :(
.... when opening Jomsocial registration form, Jomsocial recognizes that there IS actually a loged on user and refuses to show the registration form, but welcomes this user.
Btw, the orginal Joomla registration form behaves properly and shows the form, ignoring the fact that theres is a user actually loged on behind the scenes. But for using Jomsocial I'd NEED Jomsocial's registration form.
I knew that I had the same problem with CB before and I think it the solution there used to be a hack on CB. But be honest: is that a solution that's worth the name?
Any (better) ideas to get me out of this mess, please?
Thanks in advance and kind regards,
Me
