I would like to share some thoughts with you about the large invasion of PAGE BUILDERS in the joomla! templates community.

Page builders are great tools for static websites with wysiwyg layouts. YoothemePRo, Balbooa, SP Page Builder, etc... all these tools have however I big issue with dynamic sites with SEBLOD.

It's always possible to use SEBLOD with a pagebuilder as long as your content/list/form is in the component module (= the content position).

However one of the great features of SEBLOD is to allow dynamic lists you put inside modules all around the central content. These lists are dynamically filtered according to fields of the central content. This mechanism relies on the "live plugins" (button [2] ) and the fact that from the URL you can retrieve the ID of the central content.

With Page builders you no longer mange contents but pages. Therefore you have two issues:

1- your dynamic list can no longer be put in a module around the content. It would have to be put in the page itself which can't be done

2- the filtering of the live values no longer work since the url is referring to a page and not to a content.

At the end of the day, though page buidlers remain attractive tools I don't see how they can be used on rich and dynamic seblod sites.

What are your thoughts on that matter please ?
