Hi there,

I try to install the seblod branch for Joomla 4, for testing purposes. Is there a way to install the seblod 4.0-dev branch on joomla 4? This is no installtion packet, but it just keeps the files in the installation tree under Joomla 4.

What I tried:

First I installed a Joomla 4. Then I started the installation of the latest Seblod 3.17.4 installation packet, which worked fine until at the end seblod was called. This caused an error.

After that, I fetched the seblod 4.0-Dev branch from github ( https://github.com/Octopoos/SEBLOD/tree/4.0-dev ) , unpacked it, and copied all modules, libraries, plugins and components over the installed 3.17.4 version of seblod.

Now my joomla runs again, but each call of seblod extensions causes some kind of error. For example   "JHtmlBootstrap::modal  not found"

Maybe this branch actually is not running without errors. But I guess, that I should install the branch not by first installing seblod 3.17.4 and then overwriting the old seblod files by new onces.

So maybe someone can tell me how to install the branch correctly.

Thank you

Wolfgang

When Joomla itself is not out of the Alpha phase it is hard Seblod would be working perfectly with it. And to install you would need build tools to build package first, I think those are not in the repository.

I suggest you wait with testing until some test package is released.

You re right, there are no build-packages in the repository. I just hoped, it would work, to install the seblod 3.17.4 and then update the files.

So I will wait. Thank you

Hi,

Joomla 4 Beta 3 is now available.

Any update on the upcoming Seblod 4?

I have a number of clients eager to upgrade to Joomla 4 when the stable version is released  but without Seblod 4 it will be impossible.

Please advise.

Thanks in advance.

Hello,

Any news on Seblod 4?

There is no recent activity on Github.

Now that Joomla 4 has reached RC2 stage I would expect the stable version to be available soon.

Please let us know.

Hi all,

Trying my luck again. Joomla 4 stable is announced for August 17 2021, in 10 days from now.

Still no activity whatsoever since January 2021 on Github.

A little communication would help.

Thanks.

Thanks Seba,

Glad to see that we will indeed get a working Seblod 4 version soon!

I have tried to follow the steps on the blog unfortunately when I try to upgrade to Seblod 4 RC1 at the last step, I get errors related to the database structure.

I guess it is trying to create columns that already exist.

I did try to workaround that by renaming existing columns but unsuccessfully so far.

I suppose I will wait until the RC2 is available.

Regards.

Hi @Saba,
On one of my Joomla 3.9.28 sites, I accidentally updated Seblod 3.20.2 to 3.21.2 before to update Joomla to 3.10

Please, How can I correct it?

On Joomla 3.9.28 I have to reinstall Seblod 3.20.2 over the 3.21.2 and then process with Joomla 3.10 ?

OR just by update Joomla 3.9.28 + Seblod 3.21.x to Joomla 3.10 ?

Hi joomleb,

Now, just update to Joomla! 3.10, and you should be fine.

I was hoping that Santa would drop a fresh version of Seblod 4,.

No elf activity on GitHub either since August.

Any sightings?

Yes, the official Joomla3 support time period is running out fast, and for those who are running a bigger amount of Selbod web apps this can be pretty tough in case the apps use custom scripts, plugins or the J4 migration plan includes the frontend changes (bootstrap5, vanilla js instead of Jquery). Seblod team should communicate this better.
