I'm using SEBLOD IMPORTER and it works excellent for new records and for updated records. But not anymore existing records were not cancelled!

I tried to find any instruction in manuals or forum items how to force this. This action was not successful. Which parameter has an impact to replace all records with the new file = creating new items, updating existing items and cancelling not anymore existing items?

Thanks for your help.

Hi,

Apart from customizing the whole importer plugin, try to work with the Article status field. You can then set the Article status to trashed. There is a plugin that can then auto delete these articles.eg you could try :

extensions.joomla.org/extension/jextbox-article-auto-manager

Hi there,

Many thanks for your prompt reply.

Please allow a addition short question: there is no way to use the importer to replace all existing records and add those from the upload file? The reason is: the new file contains only the current items and not those we deleted in the source system in the meantime.

Thanks again.

You still may be able to do this with the plugin I mentioned. You can set rules - so if for example you upload records today and tomorrow you upload new and updated records - these can have an updated Article Created + Article Modified date. And then you can use the plugin to auto delete articles older than a certain date for example for Article Modified etc.

Hi,

this is expected behaviour,  importer is meant to add records to exisitng ones.

Thank you all for your help - now it is very clear for me!

So I have first to truncate the respective table within the database and then I have to go to import the current data with SEBLOD Importer.

That's what I did now. And it works.

But there is another unexpected reaction! The list view with those records shows on the first 7 pages the correct data within the correct sort order. But after that there are additonal 7 pages with no content in the search list! And the database is really reduced to the current 152 records.
Would you review it? It's on this site - and please pay attention to the page 7.

It would be very appreciated if you have additional hints what's to do!

Best regards
Heinz

I think it would have been far better to delete all the content belonging to that content type from the backend and then cleared the trash

Because if the items are also Joomla articles (which they are 99% of the time) then it also uses tables etc for these records. Deleting/Truncating records only from the database may turn out to have many complications.
