Hello, I just signed up, because another CCK competitor ended its product updates in 2023 and there hasn't been an update since. ChatGPT referred me to SEBLOD, which I installed on a test site today and really like it! However, firstly I want to know how to upgrade to the PRO version because there are some things I don't have in the basic version, such as #1) when creating a field, how to make it a required field. I read that if you click the Validation option in the General tab you can make a field a required field. This is not so, because I simply do not have a General tab when creating a new field, and certainly no Validation options listed when creating a new field. #2) When uploading coin image, front and back, they are listed in the Article vertically, I want them listed horizontally, side by side, and I want to be able to click on the thumbnail for a larger view. #3) I would like to know how to create an auto-increment catalogue number. I created a Catalogue Number field, but do not know how to set it up to auto-increment. If all of these options are available in the PRO version, then I'd like to upgrade, but not sure how to do that. I don't see any option.
I will be running a coin collection site on Joomla 5.4 with SEBLOD version 4.5.2 hopefully, if the other CCK developer doesn't upgrade their product and fix all their bugs. I want to display all of my entries something like my current site (which is constantly being updated, daily) at https://coins.dansmith.ca.
Would someone kindly let me know how I can find these options in SEBLOD or tell me how I can upgrade, and if it will include these features? Thank you!
Be careful with chatgpt and seblod because although he may have recommended this CCK to you, and it did that very well, he actually has no real idea how this CCK works internally. And this is completely normal, given that Seblod has very little documentation and it’s very scattered.
Regarding what you’re looking for:
- You’ll find it in Forms & Content Types → Site Form. Small button on the right, number 3: "required / validation + stage". Only the required column.
- This is in Forms & Content Types → Content. Small button on the right, number 2: "Link + Typography". Select HTML typography, and once you’re there you can do it exactly how you want, or call other values from there as long as they are present in the content.
- There is no “Pro” version of Seblod. There are paid extensions that can expand its functionality to very high levels. As for auto-increment, I always do it by activating that property in the database column, just like the ID column, which is always INDEX + PRIMARY KEY. Here you'd need to enable auto-increment in your database column.
