Hi All
Does anyone know if there is a way to link to seblod content which is not associated with a menu ?
We are finding that clients link to content through the editor which then creates a SEF link not associated with the menu where the content is located. This typically happens when a users links to an item which is shown under a search & list type.
Please let me know if anyone has seen this, and a possible solution.

In my experience, it's not a bad habit to have all categories in menus, even if hidden. That way at least breadcrumb can pick it up at some point... I tried opening a random content from home (/id#-alias), and it immediately picked other articles from category (via Previous/Next), which means it has some "compass". As soon as I opened a next article (content), the navigation was restored and breadcrumb was correct.
In other posts there was a mention of some seblod plugin that "decodes" content links, developed by PulsarInformatique. Try their Dynamic SEE Link plugin.

Thanks for this information, but it is not what I am looking for.
Its specifically todo with adding in links through the JCE editor. If this does not work directly to content then the routing is not working 100%.
It would be useful to get some other replies on this.

If your clients use JCE for linking articles local to the site, they probably use something like this:
In this particular case the generated link (in the editor) is: index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=3:seblod&catid=15:seblod-3-1-x&Itemid=122 which in the browser will translate to /categories/12-content-construction-kits-ccks/15-seblod-3-1-x/3-seblod (you know the drill), provided that Search Engine Friendly URLs and Use URL rewriting are turned ON.
As you can see, all relevant info (Category, Id, Itemid) are there. If on the other hand they (your clients) insert the url by hand, the previous answer apply - the navigation will be restored once a visitor browse to previos/next.
Both Seblod and Joomla! breadcrumbs are showing the correct path.
P.S. I am using Joomla! 3.1.5 and Seblod 3.1.5 for this test. I can give you a link and access to a test site, where you can see that by entering the link in JCE this way, the navigation is kept in check.
P.P.S. Maybe you could post your Seblod > Site (tab) configuration, which will help understand better why your navigation does not work properly.
