Hi, Do you know why , with a custom user profile and the bridge enabled, a Joomla user profile view menu item can't be SEF rewritten ?

If I create a Joomla 'user profile' menu item even if the SEF parameters are enabled, the url remains non rewritten as:

index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=14:joomla-user-196&catid=8&Itemid=101

The same thing occurs with the native Joomla 'modify user profile' menu item , this one is not rewritten

index.php?option=com_cck&view=form&layout=edit&type=client&id=196&Itemid=107

thanks

Hello

This is not a real answer but a workaround I found:

Instead of using the native Joomla menu links (user profile and edit user profile) make a Seblod list on the user type you created.

In the search tab of the list put the user ID field with a user LIVE value (button 2) set to the 'id' parameter. This way the list will only bring the current user.

in the list/element tabs put anything you want, it doesn't really matter because you have to activate the AUTO REDIRECTION to 'content' or 'form' depending you want to watch or edit the user profile.

Make a 'seblod list' menu item on this list and... voila !! this menu link makes the same job as the native joomla menu links but is correctly rewritten.

Hi,

My solution for this problem is to create a hidden Menu-Item wich points to the Category where Users are stored into. Joomla then finds the Article (belonging to the User) in this Category and activates the Menu-Item of this Category. If you place the Menu-Item of the User Category, below the profile Menu-Item, then the profile Menu-Item will also be activated (as parent).

Hi Cyril,

I've stumbled across this post from a while ago. I used a similar approach for the user profile page on a new site of mine.

I'm wondering, on the user profile form with the bridge enabled, are you able to use Live Values to retrieve variables from the URL? For some reason live values on my user profile form aren't working, and I wonder if it's a bug for you too?
