have you tried using Related articles field? One of the options is to show introtext
Yes I have, but unless I am missing something that field allows you to select only one article and it's a manual process requiring the user to select. To have multiple articles I would have the include the field multiple times. Likewise for every new article I create I would have to manually related it to historical documents. The site has a couple thousand pages which is a lot to sort through.
This is why I am looking Tags for my relationship method.
If I am missing something with this field please let me know.

you can add field x field and set it to replicate related articles field, this way user can add as many instances as desired

hello Klas, thanks for the reply, I have another problem always related to the article: I set the field on link (I have no clear configuration +) I left the default, unfortunately in content wiev if I click on the article link related, the link does not work and the browser refers to the home page. I would like to point out that the two linked content types are different and that the first one comes from the relative List & Search Types

to make related articles by joomla tags (ofc you need to have joomla tags field in the content type) you need this live plugin (currenlty joomla 3 only as 2.5. uses different database table) https://www.dropbox.com/sh/p0e8ef6odo3q86n/amUsQ8zx-S/live_related_by_tag.zip
With this plugin you can add Article ID field to the new search/list form and use this plugin as live value with »any words exact« matching and "no-quotes". Plugin inserts ids of related articles if any tags match current article.
You can show this new list with the list module or in content item line using form plugin http://www.seblod.com/products/8538.
Small detail: set »No result« message style to None on the new search/list type or you will get no results message each time there is not related articles :)

I'd like to use this plugin, but am a little worried that it has not made its way into the Products section of the SEBLOD site and therefore might not be maintained. Should I be concerned?

It should work ok unless joomla decides to change its database structure related to tags again in the future, but that is not likely to happen.
