Hi, someone using Seblod + JFBConnect? I want to know if a user who registers via social networks can edit his profile (clicking on menu item of type "Users Manager -> Edit User Profile") using the Seblod profile form instead of the standard Joomla profile form.

Thanks.

Hi pierm,

As far as I know, there is no out-of-the-box solution for this yet. I looked a few months ago. It's likely a developer of a third-party plugin like JFB connect will need to add SEBLOD functionality to make this possible (and it would be great to also include mapping of Facebook profile fields to SEBLOD custom fields in order to map as much content from Facebook in to Joomla as possible!)

Thanks _jrmo for the reply. So at the moment, a user who registers via JFBConnect, when click on "Edit User Profile" sees only the standard Joomla form, right? I do not need to automatically import data from Facebook to SEBLOD (apart from name and email), I just need a user, after registering, can complete his profile using SEBLOD. But as I understand it, a user who does not use directly SEBLOD to register, can not even use it to edit (complete) his profile. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Hi

still no solution here ? the issue is that a user created with JFBconnect has no entry in the #__cck_store_form_user table.

I wrote to JFBConnect and am waiting for their answer. I hoped there would be some solution on the seblod side (playing with user plugins orders for example but I didn't find).

You need to write it yourself or hire someone to write you a plugin for JFBConnect. You can as well contact Octopoos for quote.

Hi Klas

Actually since we can force the seblod form in the SEBLOD settings (integration tab, Joomla user) we could think this would solve the issue.

Unfortunately these settigns only apply for the backend

thanks

Basically the problem is that seblod and jfbconnect are both doing the same thing regarding users, so you need a plugin for jfbconnect to make it aware of seblod.

I have a plugin that will do this. I offer no support, but it might help you.

Contact me for a copy of the plugin.

Cheers,

James

Hi guys, Hi _jrmo,

I'm interested. Please, take a look to this "SEBLOD Importer - 2 BUGs: soultions", Does the plugin consider whether it is Padlock opened / Padlock closed ?

As you know:

  • All the Seblod User fields Padlock opened are stored into the _#cck_store_item_users
  • All the Seblod User fields Padlock closed are stored into the _#cck_store_form_user

Hi guys,

just to recapitulate the situation:

1 - SCLogin is a part of JFBConnect also released as a free separated Extension.

2 - That give us the way to build a Seblod Profile Plugin to add a "Social Seblod Registration".

Where: "...Joomla has a system in place to detect when *any* extension (like JFBConnect, Joomla or various others) create a user. That plugin system is then triggered to notify other extensions that a user is created. Seblod should be using that system. Pushing the requirement that every other extension create code specifically for their extension seems really redundant when Joomla has that system in place already..."

Please, Can you confirm ?

3 - The only thing we should be careful is to have a plugin option to consider whether it is Padlock opened / Padlock closed (please, take a look to this "SEBLOD Importer - 2 BUGs: soultions"). Infact, as we know:

  • All the Seblod User fields Padlock opened are stored into the _#cck_store_item_users
  • All the Seblod User fields Padlock closed are stored into the _#cck_store_form_user

Please, Has anyone done something in this regard ?
