Dear Friends,

Does any one know how to remove some fields from being updated ?

I have some fields in a form, and I have created a "front end manager", when the form gets submitted it stores all values at first. and when editing the data, all the fields get updated also.

I want only few fields to be updated, not all.

Is there any option do to that?

Best Regards,

You can restrict some fields to add or edit using workflow restriction (included in the core)

Hi Klas!

thanks for your reply,

I have been trying to do that but it is not working, may be I am not understanding the "restriction".

I have added a field in the form and want this field to be added in the form only for the first submission.

when editing, this field should not be there in the form.

I tried it in the form & content type by clicking "4" (access+restriction) then the field's restriction option I chose "workflow" then + and action= add.

but the field is still available in the editing form.

Please guide if I am missing something.

Best Regards.

I must admit that I always have to try to be sure it works as intended as I never know whether to tick reverse or not with restriciton. So I guess right way to read it in your case is "field is restricted (not shown) when action is add". So you need to change add to edit or click reverse (when action is NOT add ).

Hi Klas!

Thanks for your kind help!

I am really grateful to Seblod for giving me (a non-programmer) the power to develop applications.

To allow only "Add" not for "Edit"  I did like this :-

Restriction -> workflow+

Location = site

Action = Add

Content Type (Form)= any form

Author= any author

it works fine.

Thank You!
