Basic question: The articles that are created through the form is assigned a title based on the creation date. Is there some way to change this?

Would like the article to retain the title provided in the form.

Thanks in advance.

Hi

You have something not set up right.

Post some screenshots etc

What field do you have for the title?

Is it for the same object as your form etc ie article object rather than user , things like that?

Have you checked the db to see what storages the field has #__cck_core_fields

Thanks for the reply!

Starting to think the problem may be elsewhere because each time I create an article the title is replaced with the creation date.

Attaching some screenshots below.

Any help would be much appreciated!

You have set wrong storage on your title field - I suggest you use already made "Article title" field or set exactly the same storage to your field - Standard - Article - title  as this is what Joomla uses to store article titles

Thanks for the quick reply!!

The problem persists even if I change the storage field... strangely this also happens each time I create an article, not only through the form.

Would there be any other setting that controls how titles are assigned by Joomla?

Changing storage does not work properly, you either need to create new field or just use existing article title field.
