Setting for not editing a single field

Hi,

is there a way to set a field that it is not possible to edit it after saving?

I want users to edit their articles, but not a specific field (a date) in that article.

Maybe someone has some thoughts on that.

You can put worflow-Add restriciton on it so field will only appear when item is created.

thats it. You can even use it only in the frontend :-)

Thats what that setting was for :-)
