I'm trying to use Sebold to build a count-down timer for articles. I've created a custom field that allows the user to create a "launch date" and now I'm trying to think of a way to add either PHP or JS that calculates the current date vs the user-submitted date to either display a timer or the actual article. I know how to write this sort of script in PHP, but I don't know how to fit it in to the Sebold/Joomla framework. Any hints, please?
As this is your first post, may i know how familiar are you with seblod.. there are couple of way that i can think of to achieve this:
1. Use template: get the value of the date, than on the template you can code just like you usually code in php.
2. Build typo plugin for this. Bit complicated but you can run use it in multiple site easily (you might also sell it in the market)
Thanks! I'm brand-new to Sebold, just installed it this afternoon. So far I've used it to create a form that allows users to submit articles with a custom field. I also have the data of the custom field appearing in the published article. I'll check out the Template idea. I looked for documentation before posting (don't want to waste anybody's time!) and didn't see much in the Manuals. Is there somewhere else I should be looking? Thanks again for the response, Viktor!
