I'm trying to get the coordinates from adres-fields. And i get a strange effect on the fields that i put the adress in.

When i fill out a form the street, place and zip inputboxes changes. No coordinates in lat and long...

When i fill out my adres and save then this gets into the formfieldfs

::cck::8::/cck::6.574188

I guess this is one of the lat or long, but it gets put in the street, zip and city field...

I am surely doing something wrong.... Do i need to call the fields in english? I use Adres, plaats and postcode (dutch terms)

(I use joomla 3)

Someone had the same troubles?

Thanks,

Joris

Hi Joris,

What fields do you have in your content type?

You need to create your address fields, Latitude field, and a Longitude field.

Then you add the fields in the Address to Coordinates Field like so:

When you create a new article, and fill out the form, it should fill in the Latitude & Longitude.

Randy

Here are my settings...

I didn't buy the map yet, i first wanted to see if the coordinates worked for Holland as well... If you need to have the map also, maybe thats the problem. Or do you need to activate some kind of Google plugin or framework?

Oke...i'm testing stuff and maybe its another setting that causes this weird behaviour. If i found it i will write the solution here. If someone experienced behaviour like this before i would like to know :-)

I guess the problem was with the way i stored fields...

I created a new content type to test and start fresh.

I created the adres fields and lat and long as standard article and put it in the introtext.. I guess that was the thing that went wrong. Give them there own place...

Greetings,

Joris

Hi Joris,

How did you set the storage for your fields?  Have a look at this tutorial...

Hi Randy,

thanks for the link to the turtorial. I did store them wrong. I stored them in the introtext column. Now when i store them in their own column it works like a charm :-)

Thanks,

Joris
