add new field not saving

hello, i have been creating forms before with seblod 3.x version 3.3.3 but on a xampp server without any problem. i now decided to try it out using a live server. after i created a new app folder and also a new forms and content type, then under the admin or site tab of the new form i created, i clicked on the + sign to add a new field but the new field would not save and it is not giving any error. please what may be wrong and what can i do to solve it.

Hi dare,

Welcome to the SEBLOD forums.

This sometimes happens if there are multiple browser windows open.

Have you tried different browsers, does this also happen with other browsers?  It might be a cache issue, so you can try to clean the cache.

thanks so much for your prompt responce. am sorry for the late update.i have done everything you said. from cache cleanup to new browser, but unfortunately the problem still persisted. what else can be done please?

Hi dare,

Have you verified the server settings?  Are you logging in as Super Administrator?

In your app folder, is it turned On?   Have you set any permissions on the folder?

Before you add fields, have you saved your Content Type, and does the Content Type get saved? 
What fields are your trying to add to your content type?

Have you tried to upload your app from your local machine?

Hi dare,

Can you try to reinstall SEBLOD using a different method than you did before? Perhaps trying from a directory or from a link?

hello, i have uninstalled seblod 3.3.3 as you said and i have installed version 3.3.4. it installed quit well but gave the following warning

Warning

JInstaller: :Install: Cannot find Joomla XML setup file
JInstaller: :Install: Cannot find XML setup file


when i tried to add a field which was the initial problem before you asked me to uninstall and reinstall, the problem is still the same. please what should i do next. thanks

This sound like a basic php.ini settings problem - your max_input_vars setting is too low and since seblod form does not save. Seblod requires it to be set to at least 4000, you can verify this in Sytem information->PHP Information tab.

Hello. unfortunately i am on a shared server there was no php.ini folder or file or tab so i had to do the editing myself.

 I have done it but its not working. this is what i did.
under file manager, i created a file callled php.ini file under public_html folder. then i inserted max_input_vars = 4000; in the php.ini file and save it. then i went to .htaccess to edit and inserted ''suPHP_ConfigPath /home/ateradte/public_html/php.ini'' without the quotes and then saved.
is this the right procedure? because its not working. thanks for your anticipated response.

Hi dare,

Usually you should not need to create a php.ini file since it should already exist somewhere on your server.  Depending on your host, you might have to add your variables to the .htaccess file.

Check your host's FAQ or ask them how you can update the variables, php version etc...
